Fire Sealants

Our fire sealants are intended for sealing the gaps around fire doors and window frames, and for the sealing of joints, cavities or any other irregularities that may have occurred in the building structure. They can also be used to restore integrity when holes have been created during the installation of pipes and cables.

Both types of fire sealant offered by Jewson are intumescent. This means that when they are subjected to heat they increase in volume, making them perfect for passive fire protection – as a fire heats them up they expand and create an even tighter seal, helping to prevent the fire and smoke from spreading.

Rated to both BS 476 and EN 1366-4, our acrylic fire sealants give up to four hours of fire protection. Supplied in cartridges suitable for any sealant gun, we have sealants for inside and outside use, that can easily and safely be painted over, and that also give acoustic insulation. They even have a long shelf life.
